Ramsina is a revival of early 20th‑century East Syriac metal type. The original design, created by Esho Marcus and known as East Syriac Marcus, updated with modern OpenType features by Sargon Hasso.
Idiqlat is a redesigned East Syriac typeface (its name means “Tigris River”), optimized for web and mobile and available in ExtraLight, Light, and Regular weights. Both fonts support full East Syriac Unicode and advanced OpenType stylistic sets and alternates.
SIL Writing Systems Technology group developed the new version of Ramsina and carried out the substantial redesign work for Idiqlat. Sparksoft Systems' role was that of project initiator, sponsor, and technical specifier—providing requirements, OpenType feature specifications, historical context, and community-driven guidance to shape the scope and goals of the work.
